It looked like being another
low scoring weekend in the league, with only twelve goals in the first eight
games. But a Real Madrid side missing top scorer Van Nistelrooy certainly
changed that, Bernd Schuster's boys putting seven past a stunned Valladolid,
with Luis Aragones's outcasts Raúl and Guti getting a brace apiece. And
later in the evening Valencia beat Betis 3-1, David Villa scoring two for the
locals and Edu getting one back for the Andalusians. Earlier in the day Diego
Forlán scored his first goal in five games, and like the buses in
virtually every city in the world, a second one came along minutes later.
