European quarter finals
midweek, and Barça's latest rising talent Bojan Krkic got his side's
only goal to give them a one goal advantage for the second leg. The strike from
Henry's assist made him the second youngster player ever to score in the
competition. Two days later Getafe made sure that Bayern Munich president Franz
Beckenbauer knew who they were, Contra getting a late equaliser to take a 1-1
draw into the return match.
On to the weekend, where
Luis Fabiano kept up the challenge on Cristian Ronaldo and Fernando Torres for
the "Golden Boot" with Sevilla's first against Villarreal. Kanouté
wrapped things up with a late penalty. The scoreline of the day though was
surely Atlético Madrid's 6-3 win over Almería, Agüero and
Simao bagging two each and Forlán getting a penalty for the locals, with
Negredo netting one of the visitors. Elsewhere Llorente one of Valladolid's
three against bottom club Levante, and Pavone helped Betis to a 0-3 victory
against Zaragoza, who drop into the relegation zone as a result. (07.04.08)
