Pichichis

David Villa is going like a train this year, and after scoring in both of Spain's World Cup qualifiers last week, he added two more at the weekend for his club. Mata and Vicente were also on the scoresheet in the 4-0 win over Numancia which took Valencia two points clear at the top.

Eto'o is second in our chart after the Barcelona striker got his team's only goal at Athletic Bilbao, and Van Nistelrooy is also up there after a first minute strike in the local derby against Atlético. Ruud got himself sent off later on (see villains section for more), but his colleague Higuaín gave Madrid the three points with a late penalty.

All four of Sevilla's strikers were out injured, but Adriano stepped in to score the winner at Almería. And Sporting's Bilic got his side's second from the penalty spot against Osasuna to give the Asturians a first home win since returning to the top flight. (20.10.08)
