Sevilla's Kanouté started things off on Saturday with a hat-trick against Valladolid to make it ten in his last seven games, Luis Fabiano and Goitom the other scorers in a 4-1 victory for the Andalusians. And the following day Barcelona hit six against Málaga, with two for Eto'o and one each for his fellow strikers Henry and Messi. The three of them have scored no less than 80 goals between them this campaign.

Elsewhere Mata got the winner at Racing to take Valencia back in to the top six, and Soldado came to the rescue of coach Víctor Muñoz with two against Recreativo.
