Pichichis

Back to form for the mid-week round of league matches with 36 goals, double the weekend's tally. Real Madrid started things off with a last minute 3-2 win over Getafe, Higuaín scoring twice to cancel out an early goal from Madrid's ex striker Soldado. The following day though Barcelona proved they will not be cowed by their rivals, Iniesta scoring one and making three more for Eto'o, Xavi and Henry in a 4-0 victory over third placed Sevilla.

Eto'o currently leads the Liga "Pichichi" chart with 27, but Villa moved to within two of him after scoring a brace at Betis (his sixth in four games), and Forlán is not far behind either after converting a penalty against Racing. Little good it did Atlético though as the Cantabrians struck five, with Zigic rounding things off late on. Elsewhere both Llorente's were on target to give their respective sides (Athletic and Villarreal) much needed victories. (24.04.09)
