Pichichis

Iniesta's last minute strike against Chelsea was enough to take Barcelona through to a mouth-watering Champions League final against Manchester United. The effort took it's toll at the weekend though, with Pep Guardiola's side being held to a last minute 3-3 draw by Villarreal which deprived them of the league title, at least for a week or so. Llorente's second of the night brought Barça down to Earth after Keita, Eto'o and Alves had given their side the lead, and an injury to Iniesta meant that he misses Wednesday night's Spanish cup final and could also be out for the Champions League final as well.

Eto'o's goal at least keeps him at the top of La Liga's "Pichichi" table, although Diego Forlán is closing in after scoring two for Atlético Madrid. Agüero was also on target as Atlético came from two down against Espanyol to win. The day before Mata got one of Valencia's goals in a 3-0 victory over a deflated Real Madrid, and next weekend's fixture between Atlético and Valencia could decide who takes the fourth Champions League place. Third spot looks like being for Sevilla though after the Andalusians came from behind to beat Mallorca 3-1, thanks in large part to a Kanouté penalty and another goal from Luis Fabiano. (11.05.09)
