Pichichis

The Spanish Cup is largely played out over the next two months, with ties midweek right through to when the European competitions start again. Defending champions Barcelona are in danger of being knocked out after losing 1-2 to Sevilla on Wednesday, Ibrahimovic's goal not enough to save them from defeat. Three of the four second division sides took advantage of first leg home advantage to get the edge over their first division opposition, and Celta still have a chance against Villarreal after they equalised Rossi's early strike. Second legs are next week.

Barcelona recovered at the weekend however, Messi earning himself a standing ovation from the Tenerife fans after scoring a hat-trick in a 0-5 victory. The goals took him four clear at the top of our chart in all competitions, and level with David Villa for the Liga Pichichi. Higuaín is just one behind them after netting one of Real Madrid's two against Mallorca, and Llorente is up to third in our chart after converting a penalty against Málaga. Strong words by Atlético Madrid coach Quique Sánchez Flores after a 3-0 defeat against Recreativo in the cup had their effect as Forlán and Agüero scored in a 0-4 win at Valladolid, and Valencia also put their cup defeat behind them with a 1-3 victory at Xerez, Mata starting things off for Unai Emery's side.
