Pichichis

An interesting cup final is in prospect after Sevilla and Atlético Madrid won through their respective semi-finals this week. Sevilla had some problems though against Getafe, a headed goal from Soldado early in the second half giving the visiting fans some nervous moments before the Andalusians won through 2-1 on aggregate. Atlético though had no problems knocking out Racing despite a 3-2 result on the night, the four goal advantage from the first leg more than enough to take them through.

Atlético's win gave them wings at the weekend, Diego Forlán and Simao on target in the last match on Sunday to end Barcelona's unbeaten record in the league. Ibrahimovic did get one back though, his first goal in two months. The day before Cristiano Ronaldo helped Real Madrid move to within two points of the leaders with two goals at Xerez, Nilmar got the winner for Villarreal against Athletic Bilbao and Diego Castro and Mata scored in a 1-1 draw between Sporting and Valencia. On Sunday Luis Fabiano scored the only goal for Sevilla to take them back up to the top four, Soldado got another for Getafe in a 2-2 draw against Almería, and Diego Costa netted for Valladolid as they shared the points with Zaragoza.
