Barcelona didn't have much
time to reflect on their victory in the Bernabeu stadium, with a full league
programme following on midweek this week. For once Messi didn't score, but
Bojan and Pedro (with a magnificent goal from the halfway line) did find the
net in a 3-0 win over Deportivo. Real Madrid are still only three points behind
Guardiola's side though after Cristiano Ronaldo led a fight-back at
Almería with another house special. Valencia stay third, David Silva
getting both goals against Athletic Bilbao, and Getafe close up on the European
spots after a 3-0 victory over Villarreal, on-loan Valencia striker Miku
stepping in for the injured Soldado to help himself to a brace. The bottom
three all won this week, Bermejo's tenth of the season starting Xerez on the
road to a 1-2 win at Atlético despite a strike from Forlán, and
Diego Costa opening the scoring as Javier Clemente's Valladolid beat Sevilla.
Elsewhere there were two goals each for Osasuna's Pandiani and Racing's
Tchité as both sides picked up points to take them clear of the danger
zone. (16.04.10) |
