The goals started to flow
this weekend, with 30 in all in the ten league matches. There were some
surprising results though, and none more so than in the Nou Camp, where newly
promoted Hércules beat Barcelona 0-2 with two goals from Paraguay's
Nelson Valdez. No less than eight goals in Zaragoza, where the locals were
beaten 3-5 by Málaga. Incredibly the visitors scored all their goals in
the first 35 minutes, with Fernando and Juanmi netting two each. At 17 years
and a few days, Juanmi beat Bojan's record as the youngest player to score two
goals in a first division league match. The leading league "Pichichi" to date
though is Diego Forlán, who scored again to help Atlético to hold
on to top spot, even though Llorente got one back for Athletic late on. The
league's other big scorers this weekend were Villarreal, who beat Espanyol 4-0
with two from Rossi and one each from Borja Valero and Nilmar, and Getafe, who
won 4-1 against Levante with two goals and two assists from Gavilán.
