Back again after another
international break, with Real Madrid topping the table after a 1-4 win at
Málaga. Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuaín got two each to make it ten
goals from their last two games for Mourinho's side. Barcelona beat last week's
leaders Valencia 2-1 to move level with the Chés on points, although it
needed goals from Iniesta and Puyol to overturn Pablo's first half strike.
Earlier on Saturday Atlético Madrid moved back up to the European spots,
Simao and Diego Costa scoring in a 2-0 win over neighbours Getafe (Simao was
awarded the goal by the referee even though it went in off Codina), and the
following day Spain's three goal hero Llorente got another in Athletic's 2-1
win over Zaragoza. It was a low scoring Sunday though with only ten goals in
six games, Diego Castro getting one of them as Sporting beat Sevilla 2-0. A few
more though in the Monday night match, with Valdes and Trézéguet
scoring for Hércules and Capdevila and Borja Valero replying for their
regional visitors Villarreal. (19.10.10) |
