Pichichis

Normally the early rounds of the Copa del Rey don't affect our rankings, as most of the top Pichichis are resting. However Mourinho's insistence that his best players will play in all competitions seems to have affected other managers this year, and there were some big names in the list of goalscorers. Cristiano Ronaldo and his boys didn't manage to score at Murcia as it happened, but there were two each for Negredo, Aduríz, Agüero, Cavenaghi, Stuani and Ulloa, as well as a goal for Diego Costa. All of that meant that there were few surprises, with Racing the only top flight side to lose to lower ranked opposition.

Another 32 goals at the weekend, with Messi and Villa scoring two each as Barcelona hammered Sevilla 5-0 on Saturday. Earlier in the evening Real Madrid had thrown down the gauntlet with a 1-3 victory at Hércules, Di Maria equalising and Cristiano Ronaldo scoring two more late on after Trézéguet had given the locals the lead. Ronaldo has now scored an incredible ten goals in the last four league matches, and he and Messi are on a different planet to the rest of the mortals (well, to the mortals). Elsewhere there were goals for Rossi (penalty), Agüero, Gabilondo, Stuani and Diego Castro. (02.11.10)
