La Liga football returned
after the two week international lay-off, and with it the goals, the 35 scored
in the ten matches at the weekend the second highest tally of the season. Not
many for our Pichichis though, with the games involving Barcelona and Real
Madrid the lowest scoring of the lot. There were however four goals for
Valencia's Soldado on his return to Getafe, and Atlético's Diego Costa
was an able stand-in for the suspended Agüero, notching up a hat-trick in
a 2-3 win at Osasuna. Elsewhere Sevilla's Kanouté and Negredo both
scored second half penalties in a 3-1 victory over Zaragoza, and Piatti
(Almería), Osvaldo (Espanyol) and Manu (Getafe) all joined the group on
nine goals in all competitions after scoring for their respective sides.
