Real Madrid are re-writing all the record books again this season, and a 5-0 win over Espanyol took them to 85 goals in their first 25 league matches. Higuaín took advantage of Benzema's absence through injury to score two of those, and Cristiano Ronaldo also netted to take his tally for the season to 30, now two clear of Messi, who had to sit out this weekend's games after picking up a fifth booking last week. In his absence Iniesta, Keita and Xavi stood in well for the little man, although there were a few anxious moments when Barral temporarily equalised for Sporting in the Nou Camp. Earlier on Saturday evening Rayo Vallecano kept up their push for a place in Europe after coming from two down to beat Racing 4-2, with the prolific Michu scoring the first two. The ex Celta midfielder now has 13 in the league, making him this season's "Zarra" (top scoring Spaniard) together with Llorente, and ahead of the likes of Soldado, Villa, Negredo etc. Llorente himself wasn't on the scoresheet this weekend, but his team-mate Susaeta bagged himself a brace as Athletic Bilbao beat Basque rivals Real Sociedad 2-0. Susaeta was one of the few Athletic players who wasn't on midweek international duty, something that their next rivals Manchester United will surely have noted. The win took Bielsa's side momentarily up to fourth, but they were ousted on Monday night by Levante. Koné was one of the scorers in a 3-1 win over Betis which signalled that the old boys are back on the winning track! (06.03.12)
