A low scoring weekend on the return from the second international break, with only 19 goals in the ten league games. International duty took its toll on many of our Pichichis, and only three goals were scored by players who feature in our chart. Our current leader Cristiano Ronaldo was one of them though, the Portuguese striker converting an injury time penalty as Real Madrid beat Málaga 2-0, and with Barcelona prevented from scoring by Osasuna (the first time that happened in the league since Villarreal did so in January 2011), and Atlético Madrid losing at Espanyol, the Merengues were able to close the gap a bit on their two rivals. Jorge Molina and Bacca were the other two to add to their tallies, although their goals didn't help much, Betis losing 1-2 to Elche, and Sevilla seeing a two goal lead cut back to 2-2 by Valladolid.
