It's not often that a team scores three goals away from home but ends up losing by a four goal margin, but that's what happened to Sevilla in an amazing evening in the Bernabeu stadium! Making his first start at his new home, Gareth Bale scored twice for Real Madrid in the first half hour, and after that Cristiano Ronaldo helped himself to a hat-trick and Benzema scored two more. Rakitic got two back and Bacca another though for the visitors to make it 7-3 on the night, and it could have been more if Rakitic had not missed another penalty later on! Ronaldo is moving well clear in our chart, but on a league only basis Diego Costa is ahead after he got his 13th of the season from the penalty spot. David Villa also converted a second penalty as Atlético made it ten wins out of eleven, although it was still not enough to take them to the top of the table as Barcelona won 0-3 at Celta, Alexis one of the scorers there (but not Messi for the third game in a row). Elsewhere in the midweek round of games Real Sociedad's Griezmann scored a brace for the second match in a row, and there were goals as well for Jonas (Valencia), Riera (Osasuna) and Javi Guerra (Valladolid).
