It was Barcelona’s turn to notch up a big score this weekend, Luis Enrique’s side hitting six past Granada, including a first league hat-trick for Neymar two for Messi, and another for Rakitic. Messi’s first was his 400 th career goal between club and country, and with 248 in the league he is now only three behind all-time top scorer Zarra. Defending champions Atlético though managed four as well to see of pretenders Sevilla, and Real Madrid scored twice at Villarreal, Ronaldo getting the second to make it ten in the first six matches of the season, something which hasn’t been achieved in La Liga for 60 years! Apart from the big three however, the other 17 teams only managed to score seven goals between them, with Leo Baptistao getting his second brace in four days for Rayo, and Nolito scoring the winner for Celta at Elche. Back to normal it seems! (29.09.14)
