Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao are the two teams with the best records in the Copa del Rey, and they will meet in the final for the third time in seven years after both won through their semi final second leg ties. Neymar scored twice for Barça and Luis Suárez got one in between in a 3-1 win over Villarreal, and Aduríz once again got the opener as Athletic beat Espanyol 0-2.

Barcelona are the team in form at the moment though, and they moved back to the top of the table after hammering Rayo Vallecano 6-1 on Sunday lunchtime. This week it was Messi’s turn to clock up a new record with a twelve minute hat-trick, his 24 th in the league and his fastest ever. Luis Suárez added two more, and Alberto Bueno got a late consolation for the visitors from the penalty spot. Real Madrid are down to second though after a 1-0 defeat at Athletic Bilbao, Aduríz again the scorer (Del Bosque has taken note!), and third and fourth placed Atlético Madrid and Valencia cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile Sevilla stay fifth after a 3-4 win at Deportivo, Gameiro with a penalty for the Andalusians, and Villarreal are a point behind them in sixth spot after a 4-1 victory over Celta, Vietto and Gerard Moreno scoring the last two to put the game beyond the reach of the Galicians.
