Villains
Players sent off in the week are penalized in our table with a provisional one match suspension pending the disciplinary hearing (marked with asterisk). As with last week, there were only three sendings off (see whitestick section), including Málaga's physio. Poschner's red card is being contested by his club Rayo Vallecano and Osasuna's Yanguas was unlucky to get a second yellow when he slipped and was acused of diving. Of last week's villains, Bestchastnykh became the third Racing player to get a long ban when he was suspended for two matches. Their manager Goiko has made a leap of faith and has refused to accept the existence of the disciplinary committee. In the rest of the table, Loren and Txema showed early promise by getting themselves booked immediately after returning from a one-match suspension. (16.10.00)
