Another relatively quiet
week this week, with once again only two red cards being shown. One of those
should not have been, with Valladolid's Peña the unfortunate victim when
he received a second yellow card shortly after the half time interval for
handling the ball. The fact is he was running alongside an attacker when the
ball hit him on the back of the arm, and he could not have seen it coming.
Hopefully the disciplinary committee will cancel the card at their next
meeting. The other sending off was of Osasuna's Sabino, who didn't know when to
keep his mouth shut. Having received one yellow card for arguing, he carried on
with his protests and got a second, and still carried on when shown the red.
The referee reported hjim eventually for using foul and abusive language and he
could receive a long ban. (10.09.01) |
