Villains
Two red cards in the midweek round of league games, Celta's Vagner and Sevilla's Javi Navarro. Vagner got his marching orders in the closing minutes of the game against Deportivo for aiming a vicious kick at the back of Diego Tristán's legs as he held the ball up by the corner flag, and the excitable Brazilian midfielder made matters a lot worse for himself insulting the referee badly before leaving the field. Javi Navarro picked up a second yellow card near the end of Sevilla's game at Osasuna, not a serious event but having already served a four match ban earlier in the season he could get a bigger suspension too. Not too many players expecting a ban for this weekend, with according to our records Salgado (Real Madrid) reaching the ten yellow card threshold and three others on five, Torres Gómez and Caminero at Valladolid and Pablo at Zaragoza, although some reports say Mallorca's Nadal was also given his fifth last Wednesday. (08.02.02)

P.S. Torres Gómez and Nadal were not suspended but Espanyol's Lopo was.
