Villains

Three more red cards this weekend, two of which were for Barcelona players in the last game of the weekend. Cocu was the first to go for a second caution as an overzealous referee clocked up the yellow cards, and Motta (who was making his league debut this season) followed him soon afterwards for the same reason. The other man to get his marching orders was Racing Santander's Diego Mateo. He had already been booked once, but his tackle on a Villarreal player earned him a straight red close to half time.
