Villains

There were some famous names jumping the queue for the bathrooms on Saturday night, with Ronaldinho, Fernando Torres and José Ignacio all getting themselves sent off for various reasons. Ronaldinho won the prize for the silliest red card of the weekend, getting a second booking in Barcelona's match at Valladolid for heading the ball out of the hands of keeper Bizzarri as he was lining up to punt it upfield. Atlético's Fernando Torres was next to go later in the evening when he caught Málaga's Josemi in the face with a flying elbow, being shown the red card as he was being carried off on a stretcher after injuring himself in the same play. Torres is likely to miss his side's derby match with Real Madrid as a result. And finally Celta's José Ignacio was given a straight red card for kicking Baptista in retaliation during the second half of the match against Sevilla.

There were no further red cards in the seven games on Sunday, but several players will miss the next round of matches due to accumulation of yellow cards. The list includes three Málaga players, the aforementioned Josemi and fellow defender Litos, both on ten cards, and Miguel Angel, who was only let off a suspension last weekend when his fifth booking was cancelled on appeal after the disciplinary committee accepted a case of mistaken identity. They will be joined by Juanma (Racing) and Belletti (Villarreal), both with ten bookings, and Pablo (Albacete), Kovacevic (Real Sociedad), Gallardo (Sevilla), Curro Torres (Valencia) and Jonathan (Valladolid) with five.
