Villains

A quiet weekend for our villains, and even Osasuna's Pablo García failed to pick up a booking for the first time in a month! Only three red cards, two of which were for García's frustrated teammates as their side were thrashed by Málaga. Moha was the first to go for kicking an opponent while he was on the ground, and Cruchaga followed a few minutes later after being shown a second yellow card. The third player to be sent off was Real Sociedad's Rossato right at the end of the match at Atlético Madrid for bringing down Fernando Torres as he advanced on goal. Real will probably appeal though as they felt that Torres was probably just rehearsing for the Oscars!

Five players are expected to sit out the midweek round of games after completing the cycle of yellow cards. Valencia's Marchena picked up his tenth caution, and Sergi (Atlético), Andrade (Deportivo), Kovacevic (Real Sociedad) and Iván De la Peña (Espanyol) all picked up their fifth. See our white stick section for more on De la Peña's booking. (01.03.05)

PS Scaloni's fifth yellow card from last weekend was cancelled on appeal, allowing him to play against Real Madrid at the weekend.
