Villains

Only one red card this weekend, Albacete's Gaspar losing his cool in the last minute of the match after Real Sociedad came back from two down to equalize. He will miss the last match of the season together with fifteen other players who completed the five yellow card cycle, including such illustrious names as Ronaldinho and Beckham, who may have forced the issue so they could join their respective international sides. Beckham picked up his tenth booking as did Del Horno (Athletic), and Ronaldinho was shown his fifth together with Santi (Albacete), Gurpegui (Athletic), Colsa (Atlético), Romero and Víctor (Deportivo), Albiol (Getafe), Camacho (Levante), Juanlu and Tarantino (Numancia), Morales (Osasuna) and Generelo and Zapater (Zaragoza). Finally the appeals committee decided to put Palop's one match ban on hold pending further investigation after his red card last week, which enabled him to play in Valencia's derby match against Levante last Sunday.
