Villains

Ricardo Oliveira is more used to appearing in the Pichichi tables rather than the villains, but this weekend he features in both. The Betis striker was shown a yellow card for protesting early in the match against Barcelona, at which time that should have been it. But he carried on with his complaints, and after ironically applauding the referee he was immediately shown a red. He should have known better - his coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer was sent off for the same thing only a few days ago.

Only two other red cards this weekend, one of which was for Getafe's Mario Cotelo for a hard tackle against an Atlético player (which didn't stop his side from beating their city rivals), and one for Osasuna's physio, who was spotted by the referee kicking the ball away to waste time. Now he should have known better! One other suspension for next weekend as well as the above, Valencia's Albelda becoming the first man to reach the five yellow card threshold, something of a record given that we are only in day five of the championship!
