Villains

Another four red cards this weekend, three of them direct. Getafe's Pulido was the first to go, earning himself a straight red for a foul on Zaragoza's Sergio García early in their match. Athletic Bilbao's Gabilondo was also sent off before the break for a heavy tackle on Racing's Oriol, and Espanyol's Riera got his marching orders for the second time this season after catching Curro Torres with his elbow in the second half of the game with Valencia. Elsewhere Llera was also sent for an early bath ten minutes before the final whistle of Nàstic's visit to Huelva for a second bookable offence. On the card front, three of Racing's players, Colsa, Melo and Tomás, all reached the five card threshold on the same day, leaving coach Miguel Angel Portugal with a big hole in midfield for his next fixture.
