It was all going nicely for
one of our old prize-winning villains Pablo García at his new club
Celta, a quiet game here, a few minutes as sub there. But then along came the
relegation battle against Athletic, and things started to get serious. With an
hour on the clock dear Pablo was the subject of a lunging tackle from
Amorebieta, and the red mist descended. Out came the hand around the neck, and
the ex Osasuna and Real Madrid midfielder was on his way off the park. Another
two match ban, and thank you very much!
A two match suspension as
well for Betis defender Nano, who was sent off late on against Zaragoza after
catching Lafita with an elbow. And two players were sent off for second
bookable offences, including Barcelona's Oleguer late in the first half of the
big derby match against Real Madrid, and Real Sociedad's Mikel González
late on in his side's much needed win against Mallorca. Sergio Ramos picked up
his tenth booking in the Nou Camp and will miss the next game, and he will be
joined by Athletic Bilbao's Murillo (also ten yellow cards), as well as
Estoyanoff (Deportivo), Morales (Nàstic) and Ayala (Valencia), all with
five. (13.03.07) |
