We have a new leader this
weekend, and his name is... er ... Víctor Muñoz! But isn't he a
manager? Well yes he is, but the Recreativo boss was shown a red card for the
second time this season, and rockets to the top of our chart! Víctor was
protesting about the performance of the referee after his midfielder Carlos
Martins was sent off, but Valencia's Marchena got off scott-free after punching
Cáceres in the face. The red cards came in two-by-two this weekend
though, with Mallorca's Ballesteros getting his marching orders in the first
half against Betis for lashing out at Caffa, and Güiza following near the
end for a second bookable offence, and Valladolid also losing two men before
the break, Cifuentes for a second booking and Butelle for bringing down
Murcia's Richi as he advanced on goal. Finally with only six days gone we
already have our first man to be suspended for five bookings, Espanyol's
Zabaleta taking that dubious honour. (01.10.07)
PS Víctor and Martins
both picked up two match bans from the disciplinary committee for their
troubles. |
