Sergio Ramos tops our chart
this week after his third red card in the league this season, this time for a
second bookable offence against Mallorca on Saturday evening. The following day
Almería were left with nine men by half time against Atlético
after Pulido was sent off for giving away an early penalty and Juanito picked
up two bookings. The visitors were hit for six in the end, and their physical
trainer was also shown a red card for continuously protesting to referee
Pérez Burrull.
Elsewhere Villarreal's
Capdevila was also given his marching orders after picking up a second booking
late on against Sevilla. Another seven players will miss next weekend's games
after reaching the five yellow card threshold, including Moisés and
Zabaleta (Espanyol), Berson (Levante), Diogo (Zaragoza) and Mejía
(Murcia), all with ten cautions, and Iván Alonso (Murcia) and
Godín (Villarreal) with five. (08.04.08)
PS The disciplinary
committee let Sergio Ramos off one of his yellow cards, but he still misses
Real Madrid's next match as the other one was his tenth of the season.
