Five red cards this weekend,
four of them direct. Almería's Negredo was the first to go for a crazy
tackle on Barcelona's Márquez only half an hour in to the game at the
Nou Camp. His side were already four down at the time though, and the ex Real
Madrid Castilla striker was obviously not too happy about it.
Sevilla's Adriano was also
shown a straight red card for pushing off Málaga's Jesús
Gámez a little too energetically with an hour or so gone in their match,
and Amorebieta got to the sumptuous Bernabeu bathroom fifteen minutes or so
before his Athletic Bilbao colleagues after bringing down Higuaín as he
advanced on goal.
Deportivo's Colotto was sent
off for the second time this season (the first was in the UEFA Cup) for holding
back Sporting's Barral shortly before the break, and Atlético's Banega
got his marching orders for a second bookable offence late in the first half,
sparking off a comeback by opponents Villarreal and a subsequent come forward
(if that is the right term!) by his own side near the end. Quite a weekend!
