Villains

Three of the four red cards this weekend came in the same match, with Almería's Bruno and Kalu Uche getting their marching orders in the second half of the game against Valladolid, and Nano being sent off for the visitors for a second bookable offence later on. Incredibly the locals won it when they had two players less than their opponents on the field.

Elsewhere Espanyol's Lola was sent for an early bath after picking up a second booking in the game against Sevilla. things went from bad to worse after that, with the visitors scoring twice late on to leave the Catalans at the bottom of the table.

Six other players will also be suspended next weekend after completing the five yellow card cycle. Fernando Navarro (Sevilla) and Albelda (Valencia) both picked up their tenth bookings of the season, and Sinama-Pongolle (Atlético), Ze Castro (Deportivo), Raúl Albiol (Valencia) and Luis Prieto (Valladolid) all were given their fifth.
