A bit of calm after last
weekend's record haul, with only two red cards this weekend. There were in fact
some repercussions from last weekend's decisions, with Almería
midfielder Crusat's red card downgraded to a yellow and Getafe defender Mario's
fifth yellow card revoked. Miguel was also not suspended, but that was due to
our mix up over a booking for his young team-mate Michel.
The two red cards this week
were for Málaga's Lolo, who caught Recre's Jesús Vázquez
with a flying elbow before half time of their match, and for Valladolid's Pedro
López, who was sent off late on for a hard tackle on Valencia's
Morientes.
Another thirteen players
will also be suspended next weekend after completing the five yellow card
cycle, including Mario himself who picked up another booking on Sunday.
Moisés Hurtado (Espanyol) and Pinillos (Racing) were both shown their
tenth yellow cards of the season, and Juanma Ortíz (Almería),
Raúl García (Atlético), Dani Alves (Barcelona), Duda
(Málaga), Mario Suárez (Mallorca), Del Pino (Numancia),
Azpilicueta (Osasuna), Pepe and Sneijder (Real Madrid) and Mosquera (Sevilla)
all picked up their fifth. (03.03.09) |
