Seven red cards in La Liga
this weekend, with three players (Nelson and Ricardo from Betis and
Pavón from Numancia) all sent off after giving away penalties in the
same match. One for the pub quiz there! Nelson's was a straight red and the
other two were for second yellows, Pavón getting his within a few
minutes of coming on as substitute. Osasuna's assistant manager was shown a red
card for protesting, and the other three who got their marching orders, Jacobo
(Getafe), Aitor (Recreativo) and Pires (Villarreal) were all sent off for
second bookable offences.
Elsewhere Perea
(Atlético Madrid) and Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) will both miss next
weekend's games after they picked up their tenth yellow cards, and they will be
joined in the stands by Oliveira (Betis), Verdú (Deportivo), Nunes
(Mallorca), Jesús Vázquez and Adrián Colunga (both
Recreativo) and Javi Venta (Villarreal), all of whom picked up their fifth.
