Villains

Why do the teams run by Joaquín Caparrós always drift to the top of our chart!?! The manager's aggressive style always gets his players in to trouble, and this week Athletic Bilbao had two players sent off against Getafe, Gurpegui for a second bookable offence before the break and Ustaritz a straight red at the end (his second in a row). There were two red cards for Mallorca players as well, Josemi getting his marching orders for a second bookable offence with under half an hour gone and Ramis following him down the tunnel for the same reason only five minutes after the restart. Even so their disorganised hosts Atlético Madrid could only manage a draw!

Espanyol's Nico Pareja also saw red against Sevilla after picking up a second booking on the hour mark, and Almería keeper Diego Alves got his marching orders for bringing down Pablo outside of the area against Valencia. Curiously both Alves and Ustaritz will be available to play next weekend as, having been shown straight reds, they will serve out their one match bans in the midweek cup matches. The others though will be in the stands for day nine, as will Alves's team mate Soriano, who picked up his fifth caution of the season at the weekend. (27.10.09)
