Four red cards for Deportivo
players and staff in Tuesday night's game at Sporting, one for keeper Aranzubia
early on for bringing down Bilic outside of the area, one for Lopo near the end
for giving away a penalty, and one each for coach Lotina and his assistant
Ribera for protesting. Valladolid's Diego Costa was red-carded in the first
half against Espanyol for stepping on Didac with the ball out of play, and
Víctor Ruíz was sent off as well in the second half of that match
for a second bookable offence. And Getafe coach Michel was also sent to the
stands for protesting to the referee in the derby game against his old club
Real Madrid.
All will be joined in the
stands at the weekend by ten players who completed the five yellow card cycle,
including Soriano (Almería) and Ponzio (Zaragoza) who picked up their
tenth bookings, and Piatti (Almería), Yeste (Athletic), Busquets
(Barcelona), Mario (Getafe), Manu Torres and Obinna (Málaga), and
Godín and Marcos Senna (Villarreal). Espanyol's Raúl Baena also
received a fifth yellow card, but the disciplinary committee overturned the
decision on appeal. (26.03.10) |
