Villains

It was just not a good day for Manuel Fernandes on Sunday, the Valencia midfielder scoring a screamer in to his own net and then getting red carded late on for a foul on Mallorca's Aduríz. Fernandes was one of four players to pick up straight red cards this weekend, the others being Ujfalusi (Atlético), Pedro León (Getafe) and Rúper (Osasuna). Xerez assistant manager Borelli was also sent to the stands for protesting. All will miss the midweek round of games, as will Gámez (Málaga) and Diogo (Zaragoza), who picked up their tenth bookings of the season, and Osvaldo (Espanyol), Varela (Mallorca), Miguel Flaño (Osasuna), Garay (Real Madrid), Escudé (Sevilla), Maduro (Valencia), and Redondo and Víctor Sánchez (Xerez), who picked up their fifth.
