Only four red cards midweek,
two of them coming in the match between Osasuna and Málaga where
Iván González and Sergio were both sent off late on. Villarreal
assistant coach Raúl Garrido (brother of his boss Juan Carlos) was sent
to the stands for protesting , and Espanyol keeper Kameni was red-carded at
Racing for giving away a penalty on Munitis. Although Munitis picked up an
injury in the incident, the appeals committee agreed that the Cameroonian
keeper did not commit the foul, and he will be allowed to play in this
weekend's derby game against Barcelona. His team-mate David García will
miss the match though after he picked up his fifth booking of the season, and
also suspended next weekend for the same reason will be Koikili (Athletic
Bilbao), Manuel Pablo (Deportivo), Rafa (Getafe - 10 cards), Caicedo
(Málaga), Chori Castro (Mallorca), Christian (Racing), Rivera (Sporting
- 10 cards), Del Horno (Valladolid), Moreno (Xerez) and Arizmendi (Zaragoza).
Raúl Albiol (Real Madrid) picked up his fifth yellow card of the
campaign as well, but he too was let off on appeal. (16.04.10) |
