Only five red cards this
weekend, and four of those came in the game between Xerez and Almería.
Keita was the first to go for a second bookable offence shortly before half
time, but numbers were evened up when Guilherme also got his marching orders
after picking up a second yellow card after the break. The Xerez delegate
José García was red-carded for protesting, and with the game at
an end Juanma Ortíz was also given a red card as players jostled at the
end of the match. Juanma's red was overturned on appeal however as the club
produced video evidence to prove he was not involved in the incident. Elsewhere
Getafe right back David Cortés was sent for an early bath with less than
an hour on the clock at Valladolid, also for a second booking. Also suspended
for the midweek round of games will be Fernando Navarro (Sevilla), Botía
and Barral (both Sporting) for their tenth bookings of the season, and Marcelo
(Real Madrid), Capdevila (Villarreal), Carlos Calvo (Xerez) and Jarosik
(Zaragoza), who all picked up their fifth. (04.05.10) |
