Villains

Nobody really standing out in our chart so far, with six players on seven points and a large bunch right behind. The 16 midweek cup matches went remarkably smoothly on the refereeing front, with only two red cards for players from lower division teams. And at the weekend there were only four reds, which included one for Real Sociedad assistant coach Balbi for protesting. Zaragoza's Ander Herrera was the first to go, rather harshly it appears, for a tackle from behind on Valencia's Mata (Ander's comment to the press was that referees find it easier to send off players from the team at the bottom of the division!), and there were red cards for Konko (Sevilla) and Gonzalo (Villarreal) for second bookable offences in their respective games. Elsewhere Perea (Atlético) and Eguren (Sporting) picked up their fifth yellow cards of the season and will both the banned next weekend. Perea of course will miss the Madrid derby as a result.
