Four red cards at the
weekend, the first for Racing's Cisma who lost his rag midway through the first
half after Levante went on to score with Bolados lying on the ground injured.
It is always a debateable point whether players should put the ball in to touch
under those circumstances, but referee Fernández Borbolán didn't
intervene and it was not clear whether Caicedo had even seen Bolados fall as he
ran on to beat Toño. The red mist descended though and after kicking an
opponent from behind Cisma had to go. Hércules keeper Calatayud felt he
was unlucky to be sent off after Espanyol's Osvaldo fell rather theatrically at
his feet, but Paradas Romero had no doubts, red card for the keeper and
penalty. And there were red cards as well for Sevilla's Stankevicius and
Zaragoza's Ponzio, both for second bookable offences. It was a second sending
off this season for Ponzio, who tops our table as a result. Another six players
will also miss the next round of matches after picking up their fifth bookings
of the season, Vargas (Almería), Rafa (Getafe), Juanlu (Levante), Sandro
Silva (Málaga), Diop (Racing) and Borja Valero (Villarreal). (24.11.10)
