Villains

Four red cards at the weekend, two of which came in the first match of the weekend between Getafe and Villarreal. Both were for Getafe players, Cata Díaz the first to go for a late tackle on Nilmar five minutes before half time. And with a couple of minutes left on the clock Albín earned himself the silliest sending off of the season, taking off his shirt after scoring the winning goal to pick up a second yellow card. Later in the evening Sevilla's Alexis was also given his marching orders for a second bookable offence against Almería, and the following day Zaragoza's physical trainer was red-carded for insulting the officials in the match against Real Madrid. They will be joined on the sidelines next weekend by no less than 13 players who picked up their fifth bookings of the season, including four from Hércules, Abraham Paz, Pamarot, Drenthe and Valdez.. The others were Amorebieta (Athletic), Nano (Levante), Marcelo and Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid) and Marchena and Musacchio (Villarreal). (16.12.10)
