Villains

Seven red cards this weekend, with Valencia's Stankevicius the first to go on Saturday evening after picking up two bookings against Zaragoza. On Sunday Deportivo's Pablo Alvarez and Osasuna's Soriano got their marching orders for the same reason, as did Sporting's José Angel, who was followed down the tunnel a few minutes later by his team-mate Sastre after he was shown a straight red for a foul on Villarreal's Rossi. The other two red cards were for Sevilla's physical trainer and for Getafe's Boateng, both for insulting the officials (Boateng's after the match against Athletic Bilbao had finished), an offence which carries a two match ban this season. All will be joined on the sidelines next weekend by seven players who picked up their fifth cautions of the season, Callejón (Espanyol), Nekounam (Osasuna), Henrique (Racing), Cáceres and Navarro (Sevilla), Cuéllar (Sporting) and Paredes (Zaragoza).
