Villains

Only one red card this weekend, and even that was controversial. Deportivo's Laure was the unlucky man, the right back sent off for a very rigorous second booking near the end of the first half against Málaga. All appeals were turned down though, and Laure will be joined on the sidelines by another nine players next weekend, with Javi Martínez (Athletic), Boateng (Getafe) and Eliseu (Málaga) all picking up their tenth yellow cards of the season, and Diego Alves (Almería), Mascherano (Barcelona), Juan Rodríguez (Deportivo), Pallardó (Levante), Granero (Real Madrid) and Perotti (Sevilla), all being shown their fifth. Mascherano and Granero will of course miss next Saturday's "clásico" as a result. (14.04.11)
