Villains

Despite the end of season tension there was only one red card for an outfield player in the midweek round of games, and even that was overturned on appeal. Sevilla's Medel was the unlucky man after picking up two bookings late on in the game at Osasuna, the disciplinary committee ruling that one of the yellow cards was incorrectly shown. Levante's delegate Andrés Garcerá was also shown a red card after a second ball was thrown on the pitch near the end of the match against Barcelona, and although his club appealed that he had nothing to do with the incident, he was still fined. Ten players will miss the weekend games after completing the five yellow card cycle, including Bilbao's Gurpegui who is the second man after Puñal to reach the 15 card threshold. Bernadello (Almería), Ujfalusi (Atlético), Aguilar (Hércules), Lass (Real Madrid) and Zokora (Sevilla) all picked up their tenth bookings, and Camacho and Duda (both Málaga), Toño (Racing) and Tamudo (Real Sociedad) were all given their fifth.
