Four red cards at the weekend, including one for Valencia's Adil Rami, who insulted the mother of referee Paradas Romero as he was walking off the pitch at the end of the game at Mallorca. Rami (who is French) joked afterwards that it was just a phrase, and that he didn't even know the lady in question. However the disciplinary committee don't have much of a sense of humour, and the defender was given a two match ban. Raúl Garrido, brother and assistant of Villarreal coach Juan Carlos, was sent to the stands after picking up two bookings for protesting, and the following day Málaga keeper Willy Caballero was red carded with less than half an hour on the clock for handling outside of the area in the game at Levante. Finally on Monday Osasuna's Lamah got his marching orders for a second yellow card following a foul on Athletic's Muniain, who probably needs acting lessons if he wants to convince more discerning referee than Estrada Fernández. Elsewhere Sevilla's Spahic became the first player to reach the five yellow card tally this season, and he will have to serve the statutory one match ban next weekend. (20.10.11)
