A relatively quiet weekend, with only two red cards in all, including one for Villarreal assistant coach Raúl Garrido for his continual protests in Saturday's match against Betis. Raúl is the brother of coach Juan Carlos, and between them they have been shown no less than six red cards (three each) since they took over a year and a half ago. Pity their poor mother when they were growing up! Getafe's Abdel Barrada was in fact the only player to be sent off though, and that for a rigorous second yellow card for what referee Turienzo Alvarez considered was a dive in the area. Getafe (and many commentators) didn't agree and thought it should have been a penalty, but the club have decided not to lodge an appeal. Abdel will be joined on the sidelines next weekend by his team-mate Miguel Torres and by Racing's Alvaro, both of whom were shown their fifth yellow cards of the season. (23.11.11)
