Five red cards at the weekend, three coming in the Sunday mid-day match between Granada and Real Sociedad. Real's Illarra was the first to go just before half time for a tackle from behind on Jara, and numbers were evened up when Siqueira was sent off for a second bookable offence with five minutes to go. Real's goalkeeping coach Navajas was also red-carded for protesting late on. Illarra and Navajas were both given two match bans. The day before there were red cards for Espanyol's Galán and Racing's Cisma at Getafe and Real Madrid respectively, both again for second yellow cards. They will be joined on the sidelines next weekend by De Marcos and Muniain (Athletic), Salva Sevilla (Betis), Fran Rico (Granada), Del Horno (Levante) and André Castro (Sporting), all of whom picked their fifth bookings of the season. (22.02.12)

PS. Galán and Fran Rico were both let off their yellow cards on appeal, and therefore will be available to play this weekend. (23.02.12)
