Four players sent off this weekend, all for second bookable offences. Three of those were on Sunday, with Granada's Diakhité the first to go with only half an hour on the clock in their mid-day game against Getafe. Rayo's Saúl Ñíguez was next, the on-loan Atlético midfielder-turned-defender further blotting his copy-book by protesting vehemently to the referee as he hadn't realized that he had been booked earlier. Elche's Domingo Cisma got his marching orders later in the evening at the start of the second half at Betis (albeit that Elche were able to hold on to their lead after that), and on Monday Villarreal's Bruno was kindly asked by the referee to help prepare the half-time orange slices a couple of minutes before the break at Athletic Bilbao. Saúl's protests earned him a three match ban, and the others will all miss next weekend's games, together with Pellerano (Almería), Amaya (Betis), Rafinha (Celta), Sergio Sánchez (Málaga) and Cala (Sevilla), who all picked up their fifth bookings of the season. Cala in particular had only just returned from a one match suspension, and he is currently topping our chart at the moment. (23.10.13)

PS. Villarreal appealed successfully against one of Bruno's bookings, and his one match ban has been cancelled. (24.10.13)
