Four red cards at last this weekend – phew, for a moment there we thought our referees had gone soft after only producing one in the last two rounds of games! Almería’s Dubarbier was the first to go for a second bookable offence late on in the Saturday evening game at Real Sociedad, and his coach Francisco followed him down the tunnel a few minutes later after picking up two bookings for protesting. We don’t know what he was moaning about though, his team were winning! Levante’s Vyntra was sent off for giving away a penalty on Barcelona’s Messi just before half time of their Sunday night match, although it could just as easily have been Toño, as both players hacked at him before he fell. The club will appeal the red card however as they felt it should only have been a yellow at most. And on Monday evening Valencia’s Rodrigo got his marching orders for a second booking just a minute after he had put his team 0-3 up at Getafe from the penalty spot! Must have been the adrenaline!
